The best cosmetic products are definitely not found on store shelves (unless toxicity and chemicals are your guarantees of quality). There is no need to go far: go to your kitchen, open your cupboards wide and take a careful look in your fridge. It is in these places that you will find the best allies to enhance your natural beauty. If you are doubtful or simply curious, read this list of 10 cosmetic products that you already have at home.
1) Grapefruit
In addition to its to-die-for citrus scent, grapefruit is a very good detox fruit that tones the skin, promotes its regeneration and provides its antiseptic qualities. If you look gray, you can even out your complexion by collecting the juice of a squeezed grapefruit. Let it sit for 10 minutes and apply this to clean skin (do not rinse). You can also use it as a conditioner on oily hair that lacks shine.
2) The tomato
It contains a good number of vitamins, antioxidants and minerals which allow it to purify the skin (we don’t know much better against blackheads), to disinfect and lighten the epidermis. If your skin is sensitive, be careful! Contrary to what you might think, tomatoes are more acidic than lemons. Make thin slices to place on the areas that need it (the T zone most often). Leave on for around fifteen minutes.
3) Coffee grounds
We have spoken to you about it many times, particularly for cosmetic use. Our favorite use is still as a scrub, its small grains are perfect for this. You can add it to your shower gel or mix it with honey for your face. Focus on the most dry areas (elbows, feet, etc.), rinse with lukewarm water and moisturize. Your skin will be really soft!
4) Cucumber
It is rich in vitamin B6 and fights against tired features. With it, the skin is smooth, fresh and relaxed thanks to an anti-stress effect). It is also hydrating and water-filled. The most classic use is in thin slices placed on the face for 20 minutes. If you want a 100% natural moisturizing lotion, you can mix it with 5 mint leaves, 50 ml of milk and 2 drops of grapefruit seed extract. Mix everything and pass the mixture through a sieve. It’s already ready! Keep in the fridge for freshness and better conservation.
5) L‘egg
Egg white is a protein concentrate that makes skin clear, regulates sebum and cleanses the skin. Apply the white on your face and give this mask 15 to 20 minutes to dry then rinse off with lukewarm water. For oily skin, you can mix it with lemon juice beforehand (one teaspoon).
