If we were to count the number of times Grandma mentions her good old bicarbonate on this site, it would give thousands of occurrences. The reason is that it is simply incredible! Today’s article focuses more on the beauty uses of this wonderful powder that is baking soda (or sodium bicarbonate), hence the idea that it will appeal more to women, but we are sure that women men could also find some tips for them too (against yellow nails or greasy hair as well as to have soft skin for example) 😉!
1) Use bicarbonate against oily hair between two shampoos
Sprinkle it on the brush and run it through your hair. Otherwise, you can sprinkle it directly into your hair, massage the scalp, leave it to act and brush (in short, use it like a dry shampoo).
2) Stop smelling in shoes!
Sprinkle baking soda in your shoes, leave for several hours and remove it before putting the pair in question back on.
3) To make your clothes smell good
Put bicarbonate in a cake case or in a coffee filter. Add some good-smelling spices (cinnamon, etc.) or a few drops of essential oil and close everything with an elastic band. You can put this sachet in your drawers or in a sports or travel bag! The smell of your clothes will be very pleasant.
4) Against self-tanner stains on the skin
Mix equal parts baking soda and lemon juice and rub this mixture on the areas to be treated against the stains in question.
5) Really white teeth
Make a paste with two parts baking soda and one part hydrogen peroxide. Brush your teeth with this preparation. Please note that for the good of your dental enamel, this technique must remain very episodic (for an evening, an event, etc.)!
6) For gentle but effective facial exfoliation
Mix baking soda with your usual cleanser and scrub with the resulting paste.
7) Against straightener burn or redness
Make a paste of baking soda and water to apply directly to the area that needs soothing. Leave for a few minutes.
8) To remove many stains from clothes
As in the previous tip, mix water and baking soda. Apply this paste to the stain and scrub with a toothbrush that you no longer use. A classic tip, but formidable!
9) Dilute baking soda in water and use this mouthwash against bad breath
10) When your hands are oily or to soften them
Do you have greasy hands after applying your oil bath to your hair? Rub them with baking soda and rinse! You can also exfoliate your hands with it to make them softer by mixing it with your hand soap.
11) To find whiter nails
Soak them for a few minutes in a bath of hydrogen peroxide and bicarbonate.
12) To clean your makeup brushes
Mix two parts water, one part baking soda and add two pumps of facial cleanser (shampoo works great too).
13) Soak your braces in water with baking soda to refresh it
14) Soften your feet by soaking them for a few minutes in a bicarbonate water bath
