Many women have stretch marks in certain areas of the body. Even if there is nothing more normal and more natural than these “skin scars” often linked to pregnancy, puberty and weight variations (rapid weight gain, growth, etc.), they can be hard to live, especially when the days of swimming in a swimsuit are looming on the horizon and we are self-conscious about our body. Against them, apart from the dermatologist’s laser and cosmetic surgery, there are no miracle solutions… just treatments to be applied rigorously at least once a day! Here are two grandmother’s recipes to prepare at home and use on those streaks that you can no longer see in paint. You will be able to reduce unsightly white or purplish stretch marks on your thighs, hips or even your stomach for example.
1) Rosehip oil treatment against stretch marks
This oil is not suitable for pregnant women. However, it works wonders on the skin. Indeed, it fights against aging and dryness of the epidermis. And on top of all that, it is a real bottled healing elixir, because it promotes cell regeneration! In a bottle that does not allow light to pass through, mix 10 cl with 10 cl of wheat germ oil and 20 cl of jojoba oil. You will thus have complete care for the treatment of stretch marks! Massage the mixture morning and evening onto the areas to be treated and keep it cool.
2) Sweet almond cream
In a bain-marie, heat 30 g of sweet almond oil with a teaspoon of beeswax. Heat 30 g of distilled water to 60° which you will add to your first mixture of oil and wax off the heat until you obtain a homogeneous cream. Place your container in a cold water bath and continue to mix well. Finish by adding 6 drops of grapefruit seed extract and 10 drops of natural bitter almond extract to the mixture. Transfer to an airtight container that will fit in the fridge. The product can be stored for up to two months.
What if you don’t want to prepare a homemade treatment?
Homemade products that mix several ingredients are concentrates of active ingredients and therefore very effective in treating problems. However, if you lack motivation, you can always massage the skin daily with sweet almond oil, shea butter or inophyl calophyll oil! If you don’t like mixtures, you can also use your rosehip oil alone. These remedies will contribute to the elasticity of the skin and its hydration to limit the appearance of unsightly pearly stretch marks and improve their appearance.
