The washing machine is a very popular appliance in a home, because it provides excellent service. However, it is important to maintain this household appliance to ensure a better lifespan and optimum efficiency. This is why more or less regular descaling depending on the hardness level of the water can prove more than useful when deciding whether you want to install a hard water softener. To carry out this descaling, there is no question of using uneconomical and ecological products (tablets, chemical-based detergent, etc.)! Here are three natural maintenance products that will save your machine from premature retirement due to limescale deposits on the walls and in the pipes of the king of household appliances.
1) Citric acid
It is an excellent natural descaler particularly useful for removing scale in the machine. It is poured directly into the drum in order to turn a vacuum machine at 90°. Allow about eight good tablespoons to remove the build-up of scaling very effectively.
2) Le bicarbonate
Baking soda is an excellent product for a long-term preventive effect. Every month, plan to do a simple empty rinse with half a glass of baking soda added directly to the drum. The white marks won’t make a crease! When treating large scale deposits in the machine, replace the bicarbonate with soda crystals, which are even more effective in removing scale. It is one of the best descaling products on the market for removing all traces of encrusted limescale.
3) White vinegar against washing machine scale
It is a divisive product, because its acidity would have a harmful effect on the machine’s seals. In reality, its pH is around 2.4. It is therefore no more acidic than a commercial rinse liquid whose pH is around 2 and 2.5. In fact, scale often blocks wear holes in the machine. In fact, when it is removed by white vinegar, we have the impression that it is causing the holes! It is therefore better to use it regularly and in small quantities:
- Replace your clothes and linen softener with this natural softener for regular maintenance of the device neither seen nor known
- From time to time, pour it as is or hot into the tray to fill it and run the rinse cycle empty.
- Soak a terry towel with around 5 liters of vinegar and put everything in the machine at 60°.
- Or pour a liter of vinegar twice a year into the machine to thoroughly descale it. Run empty at 30° with a short program and without spinning!
Please note that in addition to taking care of combating the formation of scale in the machine, this anti-limescale product also takes care of other household appliances such as the washing machine or the iron. It also fights against scale in the kettle and the classic coffee machine or pod coffee maker. Finally, it can also be used on taps and sinks that are often hard hit by the accumulation of hard water.
