4 Mouthwashes That Effectively Treat Bleeding Gums

Bleeding gums is a common problem that is usually observed when brushing. It is sometimes accompanied by a feeling of inflammation, pain or movement in the teeth. This is a common symptom of gingivitis. To treat this problem of bleeding and swollen gums, adopt one of these mouthwashes. Why do we have bleeding gums?

Bleeding gums can be caused by various factors. However, one of the most common causes is buildup of plaque or tartar which irritates the gums and causes inflammation (gingivitis). 1) Bicarbonate mouthwash

What you need:

  • 120 ml of water
  • 15 g baking soda

The steps:

1) Add the bicarbonate to the water. Mix until completely dissolved.

2) Place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

3) Use this solution after each meal (i.e. 3 times a day) by rinsing the entire mouth and focusing on the painful area.

Good to know: you can also use a salt water-based mouthwash toreduce inflammation and fight bacteria.

2) Salty ginger mouthwash

What you need:

  • 120 ml of water
  • 15 g of salt
  • 15 g grated ginger

The steps:

1) Add ginger to water and bring to boil.

2) As soon as it starts to boil, add the salt. Mix and turn off the heat.

3) Let cool then put in the fridge for 15 minutes.

4) Rinse your mouth with it for 2 or 3 minutes, 3 times a day.

3) Fresh mint mouthwash

What you need:

  • 230 ml of water
  • 5 fresh mint leaves

The steps:

1) Pour the water into the teapot and put on the heat.

2) Once it comes to a boil, add the mint leaves to the water. Leave 15 minutes for the mint juice to be extracted.

3) Remove from heat and let cool. Then put the mixture in the fridge for 15 minutes.

4) Rinse your entire mouth well three times a day for best results.

4) Aloe vera to the rescue as always

What you need:

  • The gel extracted from a 7 to 12 cm leaf

The steps:

1) Collect the gel.

2) Use it to massage the gums until absorbed.

3) Once the gel is absorbed by the gums, brush your teeth.

Note in passing that none of these solutions should be swallowed!

What additional advice when you have bleeding gums?

In the event of bleeding gums, it is important to adopt certain habits to promote their healing, soothe them and limit bleeding in addition. First of all, adjust your diet by favoring foods rich in vitamins C and Kessential for gum health and blood clotting. Eating green vegetables, citrus fruits or berries can, for example, be beneficial.
