Summer and vacations are often synonymous with a healthy glow and golden tanned complexion… with sun protection of course! However, not all skin types are lucky enough to successfully tan. For fair skin, a whole summer of basking in the sun is not always enough to display a radiant caramel complexion. And even when it comes to skin that tans well, we don’t necessarily want to burn off all our sun capital and promote skin aging. Fortunately, it is possible to tan without sun using a natural self-tanner. This avoids the classic store-bought self-tanning lotion which smells bad and you obtain a nice, natural, gradual tan for a back-from-holiday effect without bronzing powder.
1) A natural self-tanner with immediate effect straight from the cupboard
Black tea and coffee are two cooking ingredients that help you achieve a tanned complexion. Thanks to their pigments, they allow cheat and gain shine. They offer a immediate result, but the effects fade when showering. To color your skin with black tea and protect it from skin aging in the process, infuse 2 tablespoons in ΒΌ liter of boiling water. Filter then leave to cool and sit for 3 hours. You can apply it using a clean cloth or a brush. The tanning infusion can be stored for up to 7 days. When it comes to coffee, opt for freeze-dried. Crush a few grains to add to a dab of moisturizing facial cream or moisturizing body lotion. Then massage until penetration.
2) Oily carrot macerate as a natural self-tanner
If fruits and vegetables rich in beta-carotene are beneficial for tan quickly and wellthe same goes for treatments that contain it. The oily carrot macerate has the advantage of being non-comedogenicwhich means that it can be used on all skin types, including the face. Oily, acne-prone skin tolerates it very well. And unlike the classic self-tanner which colors the horny layer of the skin (i.e. its surface), carrot oil also colors the deep layers of the epidermis. On fair skin, it gives an apricot tan. On brown skin, this gives a very luminous result in a week. To do this, warm three drops in your hands to apply to the face before the cream. For larger areas of the body, allow 5 to 6 drops.
3) Sea buckthorn oil for a natural tan
This very regenerating oil from sea buckthorn fruit is rich in vitamins and antioxidants. Like carrot oil, it contains a high dose of beta-carotene and acts on the surface as well as the deep layers of the epidermis. In addition, like urucum, it naturally prepares the skin for exposure to the sun. Only drawback: its richness in vitamin A which can be slightly comedogenic (it promotes the appearance of imperfections depending on the skin type). Be careful on the face with oily, spotty skin! How to use it? It is very colorful! Therefore, it must be diluted 50/50 in another vegetable oil to stain less (jojoba, argan, coconut, apricot or hazelnut oil). Then, place a few drops in the palm of your hand and massage for a long time until penetration. Apricot complexion guaranteed in 4 days! After a month, your complexion will be nicely tanned.
4) Natural DHA, a powder that makes you tan
This 100% natural white powder is amazing. Coming from living micro-organisms (bacteria or yeast), it helps color the skin and is water resistant. This is the reason why this ingredient is often found in commercial self-tanners! Using DHA is also easy: you simply mix it with your skincare products (face cream or body milk). To do this, you must follow a precise dosage. Count 1 to 3% for a tanned effect et 3 to 8% for a tanned effect. Then apply it while protecting your hands with gloves so as not to stain them. Then, we wait about two hours to see the tan appear and gradually intensify throughout the day. It then fades after a few days, because it only colors the upper layers of the epidermis. So do not hesitate to reapply regularly to maintain your tan!
Important :
All these natural self-tanners are applied to clean skin and exfoliated skin (face and body). The scrub removes dead cells for a more perfect result and an even tan. Let’s also remember that natural self-tanner just enhances the skin. Having a luminous complexion, pretty tanned legs and a natural tan does not, however, protect you from sunburn. When exposed to the sun, it does not exempt you from wearing a good sunscreen.
