4 tips for removing a perfume stain from clothing

Save it for later!

It happens that we perfume ourselves mechanically by spraying our clothes out of habit. Bad luck: this morning, you put on clothing whose fabric was not really compatible with the perfume juice and it ended up stained! This problem is also very common with perfumes whose juice is colored, thus inevitably leaving a mark on the fabric. So what to do? We give you all our tips to save all your fabrics.

1) General technique

On most clothes, it will be enough to sprinkle the stain in question with talcum powder before dabbing everything with household alcohol. You can also use Sommières earth on a dark fabric to absorb the stain. Wash by hand or in the washing machine. Prefer cold cleaning so as not to set the stain.

For white or colored jeans, you can leave the talcum powder on for an hour before dabbing with alcohol.

2) For white or colored leather

Soak a cloth with milk and dab it onto the stain using large circular motions. If the stain is still visible, take out a cloth soaked in vinegar to apply to it and then wash everything by hand or in the machine.

3) Another tip for leather

Take a spoonful of makeup remover and add a few drops of water and 70° alcohol. Soak a cloth with this mixture and dab the stain using movements from the center of the stain outwards. For a stubborn stain, opt for a mixture composed of makeup remover milk and a few drops of vinegar.

4) What about delicate fabrics like silk or wool?

On a delicate fabric, you can use alcohol as for the previous tips, but diluting it in water so as not to have any unpleasant surprises (count three tablespoons of 70° alcohol for 500 ml of ‘water). Start by rinsing with clean water then soak a fabric with the water-alcohol mixture. Finally, wash your garment by hand.
