It’s time to do the dishes! However, you find yourself particularly dreading this moment, knowing full well that the very dirty baking tray awaits you. And given its condition, you know that a quick wipe with a sponge and dishwashing liquid will not be sufficiently degreasing. To properly clean and strip very dirty cooking plates, remember to clean them when the oven is still a little hot. This will help easily degrease burnt-on dirt. Ideally, remember to clean your ovens after each use with a little vinegar, soapy water, clay stone or lemon juice! Sponging the plate, the windows, the drip pan, the walls and the oven rack without waiting will be better than having to scrape everything off with a scraper or a ball of aluminum foil because you waited too long.
1) Black soap
Apply pure black soap to the plate still hot (but not hot) using a sponge or damp cloth. Then scrub and rinse thoroughly. If the plate is very dirty with stubborn stains of burnt residue, do not hesitate to leave it for 15 minutes to overnight before scrubbing, rinsing with hot water and drying the plate.
2) Baking soda, a mild abrasive for cleaning very dirty cooktops
Sprinkle your baking soda on the still warm plate and rub with a damp sponge. This will help remove dirt thanks to its action abrasive. It will also help to eliminate bad burning odors in your household appliance. In case of large encrusted grease stains, you can also make a paste by mixing this powder with water. Leave it on for at least two hours before wiping with a soft cloth. You can also more simply make a paste made from bicarbonate, hydrogen peroxide and dishwashing detergent leave to act for several hours. No stain resists it.
4) Coarse salt and white vinegar, the shock combination
In a glass, mix the same quantity of coarse salt and white vinegar. Then use a sponge soaked in this mixture to scrub the still hot plate.
