To remove these stains, you may have some reflexes which are not recommended. For example, rinsing with water or rubbing a cloth soaked in it is a very bad idea. In fact, this will only have the effect of spreading the makeup stains and further embedding the pigments in the fabric. There may therefore be a halo. Plus, surprisingly, it’s usually better avoid makeup remover. This cleaning product will often only have the effect of fixing instead of cleaning a stain on a t-shirt!

1) To remove a lipstick stain

In general, rubbing a little glycerin or shaving foam (never shaving gel) will be enough to remove most of the stain before washing. If your lipstick is more bold and creamy, you can also use Dishwashing liquid and a damp cloth to blot lip makeup stains. However, a liquid lipstick stain might need a little more elbow grease. Therefore, we advise you to turn the garment inside out and stamp a cloth soaked in rubbing alcohol on it, then do the same with acetone. Do not rub so as not to spread. Then, start again on the right side and place the item of clothing in the wash.

2) To remove a mascara stain

Even if it comes to stains from water-resistant makeup like mascara, there are easy solutions. Thus, a mixture of equal parts water and white vinegar applied with a cloth to the stain will surely do the trick. Moreover, it is the ideal solution for a fresh stain. There is also dishwashing liquid to apply to the stain before using a clean cloth soaked in water to scrub gently. In both cases, finish the stain removal by washing it in the machine, respecting the temperatures recommended on the clothing label.

3) To remove powder stains

Whether it’s your face powder, blush or bronzer, you’ll have no trouble removing stains! Simply mix water and white vinegar (or lemon juice) and soak a cloth with this preparation. Never rub the stain with it. Instead, prefer to dab it. Finally, put everything in the machine.

4) How to get rid of a foundation stain

The most equipped will be able to equip themselves withether to dab the stain (complying with the precautions for use). Otherwise, you will obtain good results with more traditional products. On a recent stain, you can apply makeup remover and let it dry a little. Then rub vigorously with Marseille soap, black soap or dishwashing liquid before putting everything in the washing machine.
