Clay may seem like a really basic product, but these are also the products that can surprise us the most. In an article written a few months ago, we talked to you about using it in a surprising way in the bathroom or for your health. But our recipes for preparing clay stone show that this product can also be used to obtain a very clean house. In addition, it is economical, absorbent and keeps indefinitely (among other qualities)! The green clay that we all have in a drawer is perfect for making these tips. Discover basic uses of clay for home maintenance here.

1) Get rid of unpleasant odors

To deodorize the refrigerator or a drawer, you can place a dish filled with clay there. And if it’s the smell of your trash that bothers you, you can sprinkle a little of this famous powder at the bottom (just before putting in the bag) to prevent the formation of nauseating odors.

2) Reduce humidity

By placing cups here and there (especially in the most humid rooms), you will avoid humidity and the formation of mold. And if your clay softens after a while, it’s a sign that it’s time to change it!

3) Feed your houseplants

They also deserve to be pampered! There is nothing complicated about this: sprinkle some on the ground. When you water them, the clay will nourish all these beautiful people and will provide a good level of humidity in the pot.

4) Remove a greasy stain from clothing or fabric (carpet, car seat, sheet, etc.)

Simply sprinkle clay on said stain and give it half an hour to absorb the grease. Scrub well then clean with soapy water.

5) Restore shine to copper objects

Clean the objects in question with a damp sponge then rub with your powdered clay. Finish by rinsing and buffing everything with a clean soft cloth.
