Dust clings to it and before carrying out any cleaning, start by removing it all. Wet, it risks being annoying, hence the importance of always dust before cleaning (and not just for wallpaper!). For the dusting technique, you can opt for what seems quickest and most practical to you: cloth, duster, etc. For straw or Japanese paper, the best technique, however, is to use a hair dryer set to cold air.

It is very prized for its strength: to tear it, you have to go! In addition, it does not fear too much humidity. To clean it, use water mixed with dishwashing detergent and a well-wrung sponge as well as gentle movements. This should do the trick.
