1) Against a coffee stain (or other dark drink)

Mix one part window cleaner with two parts water in a bottle and apply this solution generously to the stain. Place an old t-shirt on top and iron over it to transfer the stain to the t-shirt.

2) To remove embedded hair from your pets, rub the carpet with a plastic squeegee!

And for harder-to-reach ends or corners, a rubber glove can help.

3) For dirt embedded in a high pile carpet, use an adhesive roller.

Then turn the rug over and vacuum the reverse side.

4) If chewing gum has ended up on your carpet, leave ice on it for 5 to 10 minutes and scrape it off.

5) For all types of stains, mix dish soap, baking soda and white vinegar.

Spray everything on the stain in question, rub with a clean cloth and watch the stain disappear before your amazed eyes.

6) To remove marks caused by the weight of furniture, place ice cubes on the dents and leave for a few minutes.

7) To prevent future marks, place polystyrene under the legs of the offending piece of furniture.
