With a cloth passed under warm to hot water, remove pus and crusts and prevent secretions from drying in your eyelashes. A cold or ice compress will combat itching and reduce swelling. Brief, a cold or hot compress applied for 5 minutes to the infected eye (or both) will bring you relief. Be sure to take a clean cloth for each application!

2) Salt water to clean the eyes

This is similar to artificial tears, eye drops or physiological serum. You can buy an eye solution at the pharmacy or make it yourself by boiling 500 ml of water then adding a tsp. has. tsp salt. 3) The potato poultice
