How to clean a fryer? Here is THE right method!

Save it for later!

After a round of homemade fries, enthusiasm wanes and everyone ducks out when it’s time to clean the fryer. Dirt from burnt residues appeared everywhere in the device, as did bad oil odors. And unfortunately, it’s impossible to put it in the dishwasher to make it shine! With a little method, it is not difficult to get rid of dirt. How to clean, detach, disinfect and degrease this appliance grandmotherly? There’s no shortage of grandma’s cleaning tips for fryers. However, the best technique is to useā€¦ flour! Here is the very effective tip that no stain can resist.

Here’s how to clean a fryer… with flour!

  • Remove the frying oil and store it in a bottle. Never throw it down the toilet or pipes (unless you want to block them of course!)
  • Against the oil residue that still persists, sprinkle with flour. The flour will indeed absorb and stick to grease without damaging the device. You will then just have to remove the flour with absorbent paper or a microfiber cloth.
  • Then pour boiling water into your fryer with a few drops of dishwashing liquid.
  • Leave it on for a few minutes. Leaving it to soak before rinsing will help you scrub away dirt better. You can also briefly boil the detergent using the appliance.
  • Drain the boiling water into the sink. Then before rinsing, rub the walls with a sponge and a toothbrush to completely remove the grease stains in hard-to-reach corners.
  • Finally, rinse and dry.

Any alternative tips for cleaning and degreasing this difficult device?

If water and dish soap aren’t enough, no need to resort to using chemicals that will make your next round of donuts toxic! You can combine the flour technique with other ecological household products for an even more stain removing, deodorizing and degreasing effect (white vinegar and coarse salt, baking soda, lemon juice, black soap, clay stone, soda crystals diluted in a liter of hot water, etc.)

And there you have it! Store your fryer for the next round of fries!
