Aromatherapy offers us many essential oils with multiple applications such as lavender essential oil which is as useful for health as for home maintenance. Lemon essential oil or those of lavandin, eucalyptus, niaouli or peppermint also share this household utility. However, tea tree essential oil (tea tree or tea tree oil) is also one of the great classics. Apart from diffusing it in an essential oil diffuser, we do not always know how to use it indoors to benefit from its disinfectant effect. However, tea tree oil offers very useful antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic and antiviral properties. Here are the uses of tea tree essential oil to disinfect your home.

1) Disinfect all surfaces with tea tree essential oil

This multi-purpose oil can be used to clean and disinfect all surfaces. From door handles to the worktop, including the toilet bowl and even the bathroom faucets, this leaves a nice clean smell and eliminates bacteria. To do this, simply add 5-6 drops of oil to the sponge before cleaning. You can also purify the ground when you are sick. To do this, pour around ten drops into the bucket of water or on the mop itself. And of course it is possible toadd to all your ecological homemade household products !

2) To scrub mold from joints effectively

Along with white vinegar and grapefruit seed extract, tea tree oil is one of the best natural ingredients for removing mold stains from joints. Indeed, these antifungal and antibacterial properties allow you to clean and sanitize the joints. How ? It’s quite simple: pour a drop onto an old toothbrush. Then polish the tile joints.

3) Tea tree essential oil to disinfect laundry

Whether it is when you are sick, when the laundry has been soaking for a long time in the basket or the towels smell damp, this oil can be useful. Tea tree essential oil will indeed deodorize, disinfect and sanitize clothing very efficiently. This will help eliminate all bad odors as well as germs. Here, we can proceed in several ways. You can add 5 to 10 drops of oil to your dose of liquid laundry detergent. Otherwise, it is also possible to pour them directly onto the laundry in the drum of the washing machine. And if bad odors are very strong in the washing machine due to humidity and mold, you can add up to 15 drops poured onto a washcloth!

4) An essential oil to fight parasites

We know its antibacterial properties to deal with various skin conditions (mycosis such as athlete’s foot, psoriasis, eczema, itching, etc.), support the immune system and soothe the respiratory tract. However, it is less known that it is ideal for fight harmful mites, parasites and moths. To take advantage of these antiparasitic propertiesdilute 25 to 30 drops in about 2 tablespoons of white alcohol and about 100 ml of filtered water in a spray bottle. Spray this product on your mattresses, curtains, rugs, pillows, etc. to combat parasites. 3 pure drops can also be placed on the pillow and duvet. Finally, pour a few drops on a pebble to prevent the proliferation of moths in your cupboard.
