Above all, do not go and poison your health with products like bleach, ammonia or aggressive supermarket household products for this cleaning. You already have all the ingredients to make this grandmother’s trick against dirt and mold!

What you need to clean your tile joints to perfection:

  • 75 g of baking soda (also called sodium bicarbonate)
  • 60 ml of hydrogen peroxide
  • A teaspoon of your dishwashing liquid or black soap

The steps:

1) In a bowl, carefully mix the ingredients mentioned earlier. Know that dishwashing detergent and black soap will be as effective as each other.

2) Take a little of this very effective mixture on your sponge, a brush or an old toothbrush and rub each tile joint.

3) You can also scrub on dirty tiles, bathtub or wherever you want while you are at it. Then leave it to act for at least a few minutes.

4) Finally, rinse thoroughly with clean water to reveal your newfound cleanliness! You can use a damp sponge and squeegee to fine-tune.

Note that this does not harm the waterproofing of the coverings in any way. So, there is no risk of finding cracks on earthenware or tiles made of porous materials. It’s really a trick to test before resolving to redo the dirty joints floor tiles or wall tiles. It is also a excellent stain remover which you can use in the maintenance of the entire house. However, it does not keep well due to the presence of hydrogen peroxide in the composition. So if you have any left over, use it on other tough stains (even on clothing) and then throw it away.
