12 Incredible Uses for Parchment Paper

Save it for later!

Some households have already put aside parchment paper in favor of more eco-friendly alternatives. For others, however, it remains essential for cooking in the oven, particularly for making fish papillotes or even delicious pastries. It can then be very rare to use it on a daily basis. The roller then only serves to collect dust! Now, that’s a shame, because you can do many ingenious tricks with this paper. Whether in the kitchen, in the household sector or for practical uses, its use can be particularly interesting. Find out how to divert it from its primary use throughout the house.

Of the ice crystals can form on the surface of ice. This is explained by temperature variations linked to taking the jar out and putting it back in the freezer too often as well as humidity. To avoid this, simply place a piece of the right size of this paper on the ice itself.

The extra tip: Also remember to slip the pot into a freezer bag to prevent it from hardening too much. This will limit the formation of microdrops of ice which alter the soft texture of the ice cream.

2) For storing cheese or butter

You can deposit parchment paper on hard-to-reach areas to protect them from dust. Whether it’s the top of the fridge, the surface of the hood or the upper part of the cupboards, you will only have to change the paper from time to time to avoid a major cleaning. Not very eco-friendly, but still handy to know when you suffer from pain that gets in the way of cleaning!

Good to know: You can also put some on the shelves of the fridge to prevent dripping or at the bottom of the oven as well as in the waffle iron to prevent stains and splashes.
