Leather has always been popular, particularly thanks to its durability which allows you to keep your accessories for a long time. This material, always timeless, comes in several ways. Patent leather, for example, is a very popular finish for its classy smooth and shiny appearance as well as its resistance, its waterproof side and its easy maintenance. You still need to maintain it from time to time! Between the fear of harming its shine by removing stains and its unfortunate tendency to crack, we don’t always know how to preserve its splendor… Here is a technique to make it shine effectively without altering its beautiful appearance.
What you need:
- A small onion
- A soft cloth
The steps:
1) You can either cut the onion in half and use one half on each shoe, or preserve as much as possible by using large slices.
2) After cutting the onion in the chosen way, rub it all over the shoe, not forgetting any corners.
3) Do the same with your second shoe. Apply just as much.
4) Let the pair dry well.
5) Then polish with your soft cloth.
And there you have it! Your shoes have regained their shine. If you’re concerned about the onion smell, know that it doesn’t linger, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
