Small accidents can happen at any age and we don’t always have a pad to prevent stains! Bedwetting is actually quite common among children and can also occur at older ages. The problem is that just changing the sheets isn’t enough to make it forget. There are often traces of urine, humidity and an unpleasant odor left on the mattress. So to be able to immerse yourself in a future night of restful sleep, you need to get all this out of the way as quickly as possible. Here are some basic steps to effectively remove bedwetting from the bedding.
What you need:
- Baking soda (or sodium bicarbonate, the two names refer to the same product)
- 3 drops of true lavender essential oil
Removing urine from a mattress step by step:
1) Pour sodium bicarbonate into a glass.
2) Add the drops of lavender essential oil and mix. The latter will help deodorize the treated area. After that, stubborn bad odors will quickly be forgotten!
3) Spread all of this on the stain then leave to act and dry for at least two hours.
4) Then you just need to vacuum to suck up the traces of powder and discover a beautiful, clean mattress.
5) If this has not worked optimally against urine on the mattress, you can still start a second time.
Good to know: Against humidity, you can use the very absorbent soil of Sommières.
