There are those who keep their tools out of sight whenever possible and who happily delay necessary projects at home because the mere idea of holding a hammer gives them allergic pimples and… there are the others! Those who don’t mind and who love it! Armed with their trusty hammer in one hand and their talented screwdriver in the other, nothing scares them. In both cases, we can sometimes notice that rust has set in on certain tools (perhaps the least used ones at the bottom of the drawer?). To remove this copper-colored deposit and ensure good longevity of the tools, here is how to make them like new.
What you need:
- White vinegar
- Take the bicarbonate
- An old toothbrush
- Optional: coconut oil
The steps:
1) In a container, pour white vinegar and soak your tools for a few minutes.
2) Rub the tool in question with the help of the brush.
3) Then prepare another bath with two parts of water with one part of bicarbonate. Mix everything and let your tool bathe for 5 minutes.
4) Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly. To ensure that every corner is dry, you can use a hairdryer!
5) To protect your tools in the future, cover them with a little coconut oil.
