A basic and magical tip against shoe marks on the floor

Save it for later!

Judging by the black spots that dot the ground, one could sometimes easily believe that the whole household is literally dragging its feet all day. It must be said that certain floors do not go well with certain shoe soles and this leaves marks… sometimes a lot of marks (and not the most discreet ones, mind you!). And even if the ideal remains not to wear your shoes indoors, we don’t necessarily control everything. So to find an immaculate floor, we offer you this astonishing technique so that no one can follow you anymore… on a trail.

What you need:

  • A simple tennis ball

The steps:

1) Catch the tennis ball in your hand.

2) Use it to scrub the floor and remove rubber marks. It is particularly effective on parquet, linoleum or even tiles.

What if it doesn’t work or you don’t have a tennis ball on hand?

  • You can also try the experiment with a school eraser.
  • On marble (a more temperamental material and difficult to clean), you can use a mixture made up of one third hydrogen peroxide and two thirds clear water. Rub gently with a soaked sponge.
  • And if you have left a mark of shoe polish on a fabric (carpet, sofa, etc.), the best thing is to dab a cloth soaked in benzine (drug store, hardware store or DIY store). Remember to protect your hands from the product.
