A lemony, eco-friendly and economical tip for impeccable tiling

Save it for later!

Tiling is quite common in our interiors (both on the floor and on the walls) and it has its own little charm. However, it is not always easy to maintain… especially when we make a point of only using products that are natural, non-toxic and which do not harm the planet (we want to do so, to our beautiful blue planet and we only have one!). If these products can also respect our small budget, all the better. So, for splendid tiles that shine with cleanliness, here is a simple and effective cleaner.

What you need:

  • 5 liters of water
  • 250 ml of white vinegar
  • 10 drops of lemon essential oil (for scent and to boost product performance)
  • Something to mop (for floor tiles) or a sponge (for wall tiles)

The steps:

1) Heat your water using a large saucepan. This will allow you to obtain hotter water than that of the tap which rarely exceeds 50°C. However, hotter water will be more effective in dissolving dirt. Then pour it into a bucket or basin.

2) Carefully incorporate the vinegar and essential oil. Your cleaner is ready to use! Make sure the water is hot for greater efficiency.

3) Soak a sponge or mop with this preparation and clean. Then plan to rinse with water for the wall and a clean mop for the floor.
