A homemade tip to effectively clean your toilets (forget Canard WC)

Save it for later!

The toilet is a “strategic place” in the house: everyone spends there (more or less long). This is why your “washrooms” must be as clean as possible. And for that, there is a little tip, natural and effective. Forget Canard WC to clean your toilets effectively. Chemical products are not necessarily always better than natural and ecological household products! So, give this very easy natural recipe a chance.

What you need:

  • 30 cl of white vinegar
  • 60 cl of water
  • Optional: a little essential oil to boost the effectiveness of the product (lemon, tea tree or lavender)

How to clean your toilet effectively?

1 – In a large spray bottle, mix the white vinegar and water

2 – Then add two or three teaspoons of essential oil

3 – Shake the bottle and your natural cleanser is ready!

How to use it?

1 – Once a week, spray the interior walls of the toilet, as well as the bowl

2 – Leave to act for a good fifteen minutes

3 – Then brush the inside of the toilet and clean the bowl with a sponge

4 – All you have to do is flush

And there you have it! It’s all clean and it smells good.

Adding bleach: good idea or not?

Once the white vinegar is in your toilet, you may think that pouring a little bleach into your toilet will only clean it more. Wrong! Especially since you also risk poisoning yourself. For what ? Because bleach is sodium hypochlorite, that is to say chlorine dissolved in a potassium hydroxide solution. However, if this chemical compound comes into contact with acid or ammonia, a very toxic gas that is irritating to the respiratory tract and eyes is formed. Acid and ammonia are found in the composition of many commercial household products, including white vinegar (acid). So once again, never add bleach in addition to your vinegar.
