1 – Cups and water to eliminate tobacco odors
Fill two or three small cups with water. Then place a damp sponge in the center of each of the cups and place them in different places in the room concerned. Wet sponges will absorb the smoke. It’s that simple to fight odors!
2 – Sand and herbs from Provence
To neutralize odors at the source, put a little damp fine sand at the bottom of the ashtray, accompanied by Provence herbs. The sand will extinguish the cigarette butts, while the Provençal herbs will take care of the bad, stubborn smell of tobacco.
3 – Ammonia salt against cigarette smell
Place two or three cups containing a tablespoon of ammonia salt and a few drops of essential oil (perfume of your choice for a good smell: lavender essential oil, eucalyptus essential oil, etc.) in various places on the main room. Ammonia is a very strong and powerful product, so make sure not to use too much and make sure your cups are out of reach of children.
4. Orange peels
Burn previously dried orange or tangerine peels to prevent smoke from permeating the curtains. You can also place them on (running) radiators so the smell spreads faster. It’s excellent against bad odors, even damp odors or cooking odors.
5 – Bicarbonate and lemon juice
Mix a teaspoon of baking soda in a large container of hot water and add a few drops of lemon juice. Then spray this mixture on your curtains, carpets and other fabrics using a sprayer. Your textiles will no longer smell of tobacco. You can also sprinkle it on carpet or rugs. Leave it on for a few hours, or even overnight, then vacuum it up. Its sidekick, white vinegar, is also very effective in eliminating the unpleasant odors of cold tobacco on clothes. With a spray bottle, you can spray it on to benefit from its deodorizing effects.
