Wooden furniture can sometimes look a little dull. This is a sign that it is time to turn to a wax that will restore its shine. This wax is ideal because it is simple to make and has a perfect texture: firm, but easily spreadable thanks to the mixture of oils and beeswax. Castor oil gives it all its shine. The few drops of essential oils bring a fresh and pleasant smell to this wax which makes the wood look like new.
What you need:
- 20 g of yellow beeswax
- 30 ml of castor oil
- 70 ml d’huile d’olive
- 2 ml of sweet orange essential oil
- 1 ml of lemon essential oil
- A metal pot (for candles for example)
The steps:
1) Put the beeswax, castor oil and olive oil in a container and melt in the microwave or in a bain-marie.
2) Take everything out of the microwave or bain-marie, being careful not to burn yourself, as it is hot.
3) Add the orange essential oil, mix. Proceed in the same way with lemon essential oil.
4) Pour the mixture into your pot and let everything harden for a few hours. Your wax will then be ready to use!
How to use it?
Take a little material on a sheet of paper towel or a cloth and apply to the wood, taking care to massage the wood. Then wipe off the excess.
