Your dishwasher doesn’t smell as fresh as a spring morning? Does the dirt seem to have accumulated? So maybe it’s high time for a little cleaning to make it even cleaner! This will help eliminate bad odors and help it do its job properly. Indeed, a dirty dishwasher may no longer clean as well. And above all, due to lack of maintenance, it can also end up getting clogged or suffering breakdowns. To make cleaning as simple as possible, you will just need two ecological household products. And to make matters worse, this technique doesn’t require much elbow grease! Follow all the steps mentioned below carefully.
What you need:
- A bowl
- White vinegar
- Baking soda

How to clean your dishwasher: the steps!
1) Start by inspecting the drain carefully and opening the tank cap to check for any caked-on dirt. Use a sponge if necessary to remove anything that is blocking the drain and filter.
2) Next, fill your bowl with white vinegar.
3) Place it in the top drawer and run a wash with a short cycle and very hot water. This will help remove limescale, dirt, but also unpleasant odors.
4) When finished, sprinkle the baking soda on the bottom of the dishwasher. Don’t hesitate to add a generous handful. Run a second, very short, very hot cleaning cycle.
Please note: Two cleaning cycles may seem like a lot, which is why you need to do a very short cycle. However, we assure you: once these steps have been completed, your dishwasher will be more efficient and you will therefore not need to rewash poorly cleaned dishes afterwards (therefore a waste of water and time) and you will be quiet for a long time.
