Waxed parquet flooring has a special charm that means you never get tired of it and it has a lot of character. But like any particular element, it can be capricious and maintenance can be a headache. A bad experience may have already allowed you to understand how much your waxed floor HATES water. This attacks it, making it dry and dull. But then, where should we turn when water can do nothing for us? How to keep all its beauty and nobility?
1) Weekly maintenance
Vacuuming should be carried out every week and never forgotten. Dust is extremely damaging to waxed parquet floors and only serious weekly maintenance can prevent it. A microfiber broom moistened with a little water (very little) is also a good tool for catching dust right in the corners!
2) Beauty treatment once a month
Every month (two maximum), use linseed oil to clean and revive your parquet floor. It is an ecological, economical and above all truly magical product on wood. Do this on a dust-free and dry floor. Pour some into a container, take a small amount onto a dry cloth and rub to coat everything. This oil will protect the wood from humidity and let it breathe. The floor will be shiny.
3) A royal interview twice a year
At least twice a year, sand your parquet floor and apply a coat of wax. Repeat the next day and use a woolen cloth to polish everything. Your parquet floor will be sparkling with beauty.
