In the Pantheon of objects that lie anywhere and anyhow, headphones are well placed thanks to their travel in your bags, your pockets… in short, almost everywhere! And if, in addition, someone has fun poking them from you and you’re a bit manic, the idea of your two earwax mixing into a happy mess is probably not very pleasant. And finally all that’s missing is a little ear infection to make you afraid of using your headphones again.
However, there is a simple way to clean them without damaging them. Here is the step by step method! We advise you to use this quick and easy cleaning once a month to have peace of mind in terms of hygiene and also to maintain the equipment.
What you need:
- An old toothbrush
- A cotton swab
- Rubbing alcohol
- Paper towel
- Optional: soapy water for the silicone hearing protection that is placed on the headphones
The steps:
- Use your toothbrush to gently scrub the earbuds.
- Soak the cotton swab with a little rubbing alcohol. Don’t use too much and clean the earphone with it.
- Use a paper towel and a little rubbing alcohol to clean the wire.
- If there are silicone protections on the earphones, you can remove them, let them soak for 20 minutes in soapy water then dry them carefully.
