If you have Converse type shoes and they have the misfortune of being white (because it goes with everything), you know how hard it is to keep them that color. By wearing them every day for all types of activities or terrain (like on public transport where people step on you thinking they’ll get out faster that way), stains appear and don’t seem to want to go away. Fortunately, our shoes can often be machine washed, especially when they are made of fabric. However, this is not always the case… We are therefore going to offer you some very effective stain prevention and cleaning tips to keep your shoes white for longer. No more grayish tennis shoes or those sporting an ugly dirty beige!
If you don’t have white shoes, know that some of the tips below also work for white soles!
1) Form a protective and waterproofing layer on your white shoes
To do this, rub a colorless candle on the shoe and then run the hair dryer over it. This tip works for all types of shoes, not just white tennis shoes.
2) Apply baby powder to white shoes with a powder puff.
Dirt will have more difficulty clinging and will thus be protected.
3) Otherwise, opt for the classic, but very effective waterproofing spray!
It will save you a lot of trouble! Just remember to add more as the instructions often recommend so that it remains effective.
4) Run an eraser on the sole to remove dirt and get a white sole.
Otherwise, rub a cotton pad soaked in nail polish remover on the sole to remove all traces!
5) Use a scrubbing spray to clean stains on all areas
On the other hand, do not put any on the canvas that makes up the shoe. Then rub with a cloth after application. White vinegar is a natural alternative to commercial spray.
6) The previous tip also works with a cream cleanser and a soft sponge.
Here too, you can use a gentler alternative with a water/bicarbonate paste.
