How to save? By making most of your products and preparing as many things as possible yourself rather than buying products which will not necessarily be better in store and which will cost you more. Two examples: laundry detergent and fabric softener that you can prepare easily.
Doing your own laundry is economical, good for the skin and ecological
What you need:
- 100g grated Marseille soap (or purchased in flake form) or black soap if you prefer
- Three tablespoons of baking soda.
- Essential oils if your soap doesn’t smell good
- An old, clean laundry detergent container
- A funnel
- Optional: A tablespoon of white vinegar if your water is very hard
The steps:
1) In a salad bowl, put a liter of boiling water and add the grated soap. Mix well to melt the soap.
2) Add the bicarbonate and mix until the powder is completely dissolved. You can also add essential oils and vinegar.
3) Leave to rest for 24 hours.
4) The next day, pour your mixture into the container and add a liter of boiling water. Shake the bottle well before each use and use about a mustard glass.
Make your own fabric softener cheap and effective
What you need:
- 700 ml of water
- A cup and a half of white vinegar
- Essential oils if desired
- A cup of cheap conditioner.
Comment :
Add the ingredients one after the other. If you want to keep a natural softener, do not add the conditioner. Then mix and put in a closed container.
