Are you still patiently waiting for the sunny days to return to enjoy the sun and the heat? However, our bodies don’t like them as much as we do. Our feet swell and we feel sweating. So, she doesn’t hesitate to let us know, notably by developing a heat rash here and there. After being protected by clothing for months, the skin actually rediscovers heat. The sweat then blocks the pores and sweat glands. This problem is unsightly and non-contagious, but also quite annoying when it itches like hives (often not just a little). What to do? Here are all our simple and clever tips to make these skin rashes in the form of little red pimples a bad memory.
Although these imperfections are reminiscent of chickenpox spots, this is a benign condition that does not leave scars or spots if you take good care of them!
1) Prevention against heat rash
We know that heat causes pimples, so there are 4 techniques to reduce sweating, in particular by limiting physical activities. Wearing light, loose clothing and fabrics made from natural materials will not only be more comfortable, but will also allow the skin to breathe. You can also take a short lukewarm shower to refresh yourself. Be careful, avoid cold water which risks raising the body temperature in reaction, but cool water can work! Finally, in terms of diet, we turn to essential fatty acids which help reduce the risk of inflammatory phenomena.
2) Once you notice the first appearance of heat rash…
Despite prevention, pimples appeared? Adopt some good actions such as avoiding covering the affected area too much to give it time to dry and stay dry and be sure to protect it from the heat (shade, etc.). You can use cold compresses for around ten minutes before drying well and repeat the application every two hours if you can.
3) Good care
There are a number of products you can apply to your skin (preferably clean and dry).
- Know that well hydrated and nourished skin is skin that breathes and this is also a parameter to take into account. To do this, you can use jojoba oil which is not greasy and resembles the skin’s sebum. In fact, oily or acne-prone skin loves it.
- Aloe vera gel is excellent for soothing and hydrating dry skin. With him: no more itching! Its cooling effect is also addictive when it’s hot, it must be said. In addition, it keeps very well in the fridge for a more effective fresh effect (with a drop of peppermint essential oil!). On the other hand, it can sometimes cause a skin allergy and irritation. If you have an allergic reaction, stop using it. Fortunately, skin problems related to aloe vera are very rare!
- If you have to come and calamineit will have the same effect as aloe vera on your pimples so don’t deprive yourself of it.
- With its antioxidants, green tea helps the skin to be in shape and to be hydrated. You can spray it on your skin and let it dry. Note that other types of teas also work, but they are less effective than green tea which remains king in this area.
4) Baking soda
This powder is very useful here! You can apply it directly to the areas to be treated (or do it with talcum powder). If you take baths, add bicarbonate to soothe your skin and quickly reduce unpleasant inflammation. Oats can also be added to bath water if you have them. In fact, it has unbeatable moisturizing and soothing properties! No redness or itching can resist it.
5) Unclog your pores
Use apple cider vinegar or preferably fresh (or bottled) lemon juice every day to care for skin pores. Be careful, lemon is photosensitizing (which means that it does not mix well with the sun)! It is not applied before exposure and nighttime use is therefore recommended. If you still use it during the day, rinse very carefully!
6) Gentle exfoliation for soft skin and unclogged pores
In a bowl, pour 3 spoons of nut powder of your choice or a spoon of coffee grounds with two spoons of oats and add 6 spoons of water and another of olive oil to protect the skin. Mix well and massage your skin gently, the goal is not to strip it. The blisters and redness won’t make a difference!
