Save it for later!

Of all household chores, ironing is usually the most dreaded chore. Particularly tiring and time-consuming, this activity is therefore very often ignored. However, even if you are not a fan of it, you have to admit that it is rather discouraging to find yourself with wrinkled clothes and household linen full of creases after a cycle in the machine. We’re not going to hide it: it’s not very aesthetic! Fortunately, there are tips and smart actions that can avoid this nasty defect on laundry. And above all, there is a great tip for removing already ironed laundry after going through the washing machine. Added to our little technique for drying laundry in the machine, we put an end to the headaches in the laundry room. Discover all these clever methods that will almost iron your laundry in the machine!

With all this, you will have less ironing and even no more ironing at all. The iron (or the steam generator) will thus be able to continue to collect dust quietly (out of sight, out of mind as they say and in this case, it is not to displease us 😉!).

By following a few little tips, you can reduce the need to iron your clothes after washing them in the machine!

This involves first of all sort the fabrics well. To limit wrinkles, wash similar fabrics together to prevent heavier materials from wrinkling lighter fabrics. Moreover, avoid overloading the machine. Not overfilling the machine allows clothes to move freely without excessive wrinkling or damage. And what’s more, it will allow for more efficient cleaning and reduce damage to your appliance. Added to this is the possibility ofadd an anti-crease product (such as natural softener or white vinegar) to reduce the need for ironing and select the correct program before starting the wash. If the machine does not have an anti-wrinkle program, use a delicate or low spin wash cycle to preserve the texture of the fabrics.

The good reflexes also continue after washing! For example, quickly empty the drum at the end of the cycle. When the washing machine is finished, hanging or folding the clothes immediately prevents wrinkles and bad odors. Finally, before hanging them to dry, also shake the clothes, or even stretch them slightly to remove the last wrinkles.

It is possible toadd three or four ice cubes to the dryer so that laundry comes out smoother more quickly from this machine. This may seem counterintuitive at first. Still, it works extremely well. Concretely, the ice will melt on contact with the heat in the device. This will create steam which will help smooth out wrinkles and give an impeccable result. Be careful not to overfill your dryer, as this could have the opposite effect…

Don’t have a dryer to iron for you after a machine? Here are other techniques for removing wrinkles from laundry after washing!

There is no shortage of tips for reducing the wrinkled appearance on non-iron clothes. Those who like to take hot showers can, for example, hang up their shirt or dress next to the shower to expose it to steam. Then all that remains is to pull the fabric a little and smooth it with your hand to give it a neater appearance. Likewise, you can use the hairdryer to apply heat to unsightly creases before straightening the laundry (or take the straightener if it’s just to improve the appearance of a collar). It works wonderfully on cotton, silk or linen and is ideal for not having to take out your ironing board for a few small creases. If you don’t need to get dressed right away, you can also use a slightly damp towel to wipe away creasesespecially on a synthetic or light textile.
