Tweezers are a very practical little tool for everyday use! We of course appreciate it for eyebrow waxing, but it can also complete the job when shaving has left a few hairs behind or to help remove a splinter. The problem is that over time, the tweezers end up wearing out… they start to no longer remove any hair and no longer seem to be able to grab the hairs. So of course, we can buy more, but this solution will not suit those who like to invest in quality tweezers and that’s a shame, because there is a very simple way to restore its effectiveness and therefore the keep much longer. After all, there are no small savings 😉! To sharpen your favorite tweezers, use a nail file… a tool that is also very versatile.
What you need:
- Used tweezers
- A nail file (preferably metal, this works best according to one of our readers!)
How to restore the effectiveness of tweezers?
1) Take both tools.
2) Place the pliers on either side of the file and make small back and forth movements for a few moments. No need to go too hard or do it for too long (your tweezers risk being too sharp and cutting the hair).
And there you have it! Your pliers should work great again. Note that the file can also be used to sharpen other small objects such as the blade of a cutter, a knife or even a pin. It may not seem like much, but when you have invested in a good brand, you like to preserve the quality of your tools. Tweezers are no exception to this rule!
