We have proven to you more than once how easy it is to concoct a natural exfoliant and recipes, each more delicious and effective than the next, can be found on our site. But with the cold, nothing is more good for your morale than a scrub that smells of delicious coconut and summer! In addition to being good for your morale with its warm and relaxing scent, this scrub will make your rough skin soft, hydrated, relieved and protected while maintaining an ideal pH on your epidermis to respect it.
What you need:
- 15 g grated coconut
- 75g coconut sugar
- Between 100 g and 150 g of coconut oil
- Airtight jar previously cleaned and sterilized
The steps:
1) Melt the oil in the microwave or in a bain-marie.
2) Mix the sugar and grated coconut in a salad bowl. Be careful not to allow any lumps to form in the ingredients.
3) Then add the oil and mix carefully. Adapt the quantities to your taste: for a softer and more liquid scrub, add more oil. If, on the contrary, you prefer scrubs that itch well, add a little more sugar.
4) Transfer everything into your pot.
How to use it?
Take a little material and rub your skin with circular movements. You can use it all over your body (feet, hands, legs, arms, etc.), but avoid the face. While some people tolerate oil well when removing makeup or as a nourishing treatment, its comedogenic power could give others breakouts. Furthermore, this scrub is too strong for the face or the delicate décolleté area.
Namely:
You can use cane or white sugar to replace coconut sugar if you don’t have any. Note that the latter is a pleasant alternative to usual sugars and it is more sustainable than the others. In addition to its subtle taste, it has the advantage of being nutritionally less bad than refined sugar thanks to its vitamins and minerals and its low glycemic index. However, it remains sugar (it is just as high in calories) and should therefore be consumed in moderation like the others.
