Throughout the year, many people decide to start a diet. Some do it to be able to put on their best bikini on the beach, others for health reasons or simply to feel better about themselves without their extra pounds. However, the majority of them will then regain all the pounds lost in the months following this diet, and sometimes even more. The reason? Our body experiences this period as a period of major restriction, and therefore a torture of sorts. All these restrictions necessarily lead to frustration which will be paid for by several small crackings which very often are very sweet and/or very fatty. To avoid the famous yoyo effect, several techniques exist. These tips for not gaining weight after your diet will allow you to enjoy your slimmer figure for longer.
1) Learn to appreciate your scale again
Before a diet, the scale is often our sworn enemy. However, it is imperative to take it out of the cupboard when resuming a normal diet. It will be the indicator that will allow you to know where you are. The idea is not to climb on it every morning, at the risk of becoming completely obsessed with these few figures. Once a week will be enough, in order to quickly correct any possible discrepancies.
2) Take the time to chew well
Chewing well is the key to reducing the amount of food ingested. Chewing your food well extends the duration of the meal, so the brain will send satiety signals to the body for a quantity of food much less than what we usually eat. This is why it is not recommended to eat quickly, since this is the time when we eat more. You should therefore not hesitate to favor foods that can be chewed and to take your time. In addition, this will limit bloating and flatulence at the end of a meal. No more bloated stomach!
3) Eat at every meal
People who want to lose weight quickly often tend to skip certain meals, which is a serious mistake. This may in fact cause a rapid recovery of lost pounds. Skipping a meal leads to grande frustration which will push us a few hours later to rush to the fridge to eat the fattest foods and satisfy uncontrollable cravings. It is therefore imperative to eat at every meal and of maintain a healthy and varied diet. If you cannot continue your diet, you can embark on a dietary rebalancing which will allow you, without restriction or guilt, to keep good habits and therefore not gain weight after your diet.
4) Do sports to avoid gaining weight after a diet
A diet is often accompanied by regular exercise, in order to encourage muscle mass gain. Exercising allows you to keep your body in shape, but also to stay in shape. It is therefore essential to continue exercising following a diet so as not to gain back unwanted pounds.
5) Have fun above all
Frustration is the best way to throw yourself at foods that are not recommended after a diet. We must therefore release our guilt and not forget to indulge in some little pleasures which will encourage you even more to continue on this path. The key is not to overdo it! So, if you are used to snacking throughout the day, implement a few tips to keep your snacks under control without depriving yourself.
