Save it for later!

The dishwashing machine is becoming essential in our kitchens! In addition to limiting our water consumption, this household appliance makes our daily lives easier by saving us time. It allows you to wash dishes and an assortment of other everyday objects in no time, not to mention that you can also cook up some delicious meals in it. Simply slide in your tablets, your rinse aid if necessary and start the wash cycle: it does all the rest of the work! However, certain materials do not support this machine which therefore has some limits. So, you should be careful not to wash anything and everything in it at the risk of damaging your utensils, cutlery or plates even if it saves a little elbow grease and time. Both crystal and blown glass are very resistant to the heat that reigns in this device associated with strong abrasive pressure, but this concerns all glasses in general. Dirt is therefore replaced by scratches and white deposits linked to the hardness of the water if you have not installed a water softener. Once the white marks and scratches have set in, you can always try to recover your dishes with white vinegar. However, these efforts are most often in vain! Better to wash by hand and wipe well against limescale.

From disposable plates to pots and pans to baking trays, not all aluminum accessories are anodized, and that’s why it’s best never to put them there even if the label states that the utensil is made of aluminum. question is “dishwasher safe”. The detergent used risks being too aggressive, because it is too alkaline. This will then cause corrosion which will dull, darken and damage the coating.

Good to know: Your thermoses are in the same boat, their insulation layer can decompose. Be sure to read the packaging carefully before washing.
