A tip to keep frying oil odor-free for longer

Save it for later!

Frying oil should be changed regularly. This is essential in terms of taste, but also of course for your health! But when you like to fry your food, it can be useful to know some techniques to clean the oil between uses, remove odors and of course give it better longevity. To do this, we have already given you an egg-based cleaning technique, but it is also possible to use food waste, potato peels! Discover this method with us below.

What you need:

  • The fryer and cooking oil of course
  • Potatoes

The steps:

1) The next time you prepare potatoes, keep the peels carefully after washing and draining them thoroughly.

2) Then heat your oil. Throw in the potato skins.

3) Let the peels give the oil a second lease of life for 5 minutes. This exposure time is important to remove frying odors which tend to permeate the entire kitchen and dirt.

4) Then all you have to do is filter them!

This troubleshooting tip obviously doesn’t exempt you from changing the oil, but we like its economical side, really very easy and practical.
