Whether it’s because of a difficult day at work or a grueling sports session, pain can sometimes be part of our daily lives. And whether they are fleeting or recurring, we get by very well without them. Fortunately, there is no shortage of tips for treating pain, and they can sometimes be very unusual! The proof with our advice for using a tennis ball to eliminate common pain.
1) Relieve your tired feet
After a day on your feet, stomping and walking around, your feet can be in bad shape and your whole body suffers! To relieve them, place a tennis ball under your foot and roll it under your sole for one to two minutes then change feet. You can help yourself with a chair so as not to lose your balance.
2) Massage your sore hands
Whether it is because you have performed repetitive movements or because of your computer mouse for example, the hands can be painful and numb. To remove discomfort, place your palm on the ball to roll it and with your other hand, exert pressure which will make the massage even more effective. Move back and forth and left to right.
3) To soothe your neck pain
The neck is an area easily weakened by bad postures and false movements. Muscles can especially be a little stiff after a day on the computer! Place two balls at the back of the neck, at the base of the skull, and hold this position for one minute. You can then nod your head in slow movements and move your head from right to left for one to two minutes. To prevent the balls from moving too much, we advise you to slip them into a sock before performing these exercises.
4) To help your damaged back recover
Like your neck, your back can really suffer because of the bad postures you inflict on it. In addition, he may suffer after a day of working on his feet or carrying heavy loads. To relieve it, slip two balls into a sock and tie it, then lie on your back. Place the filled sock under your back between your tailbone and ribs and roll the balls by moving your hips for five minutes while breathing deeply. You can also do this exercise while standing against a wall.
5) Stop knee pain
If you have knee pain, here’s what should give you a lot of relief: sit down and bend your leg by sliding a ball into the hollow. Use your arms to try to bring your calf closer to your thigh to crush the ball. Count to ten and release. Then repeat the movement eight to ten times and do the same for the other knee if necessary. A small rolled towel can also do the trick for this stretch.
6) Say goodbye to your hip pain
After spending long periods of time in an uncomfortable sitting position or in unsuitable shoes, your hips can be in a bad state! To relieve pain, lie on your side with the ball at hip level. Find your balance then roll your hip gently about twelve times in one direction then the other. You can then change sides.
7) Against tension in your shoulders
After lying on your back, place a ball at the level of the shoulder blade. Move your shoulder in several directions for three minutes and you will quickly see the pain disappear!
