Clean your toilets with flour!

Save it for later!

Are the walls of your toilet bowl very dirty and none of your classic household products can remedy it? Does heated white vinegar and baking soda do nothing? Even bleach and cleaning products based on the worst chemicals cannot remove stains, remove dirt, degrease, descale and scrub your pipes and the toilet covered in limescale? For great ills, great remedies! Here’s how to clean your toilet with… flour!

The ingredients for this unusual grandmother’s tip:

How to clean a very dirty toilet with flour?

  • First, flush the toilet to moisten the walls.
  • Then generously dust the edges of the bowl with flour.
  • Then prepare a concentrated solution of citric acid, a great multi-use cleaning product. Count 3 tablespoons of citric acid per liter of water. Spray this solution with a descaling effect on your walls with a spray bottle.
  • Do not hesitate to leave the product on overnight to dissolve dirt well.
  • The next morning, flush the toilet to rinse.
  • All you have to do is scrub with the toilet brush to fine-tune it if necessary.

You may need to repeat this procedure a second time if the result does not suit you immediately. This will remove any tartar residue and stains. In any case, apart from soda crystals, we can’t do better than this very effective little homemade household detergent based on flour and citric acid for cleaning and making toilets shine!

For a powerful cleaning effect on dirt and to eliminate bad odors, consider clean surfaces on the exterior of the toilet. White vinegar, lemon juice, household alcohol, clay stone or a cloth soaked in soapy water (black soap, dishwashing liquid) will be enough to disinfect, sanitize and deodorize everything.
