Yes… unfortunately! Even in summer when we enjoy the beach (lucky little ones) and forget about work and our sometimes exhausting daily routine, a problem continues to follow us and ruin our lives a little. This is all about cleaning! Indeed, in summer our routine and our habits change a little, but cleaning remains an imperative (even if we can afford the luxury of putting it off until later). However, a routine that changes and is synonymous with slightly different household habits. This is why in this article we are going to give you tips for maintaining objects that you never leave in summer: inflatables and beach toys.
Indeed, it is not necessary to have children who break everything or friends who are a little too “wild” to damage the buoys and other mattresses. Already fragile to begin with, water and chlorine on these materials don’t help matters and can even cause them to mold.
At the beginning of summer
Take an honest look and don’t hesitate to throw away anything with scratches or holes. Let the rest sit flat and spray with a mixture of equal parts water and vinegar. Then rinse with a hose. In case of mold, spray the water-vinegar mixture and scrub gently with a brush with nylon bristles.
After each use
Remove the water from plastic toys and do not hesitate to plug the holes with glue to prevent them from becoming moldy inside. Let them dry completely in the sun before storing them in a basket or bag.
At the end of summer
Give inflatables and plastic toys a good wash with the vinegar-water mixture and then allow to dry well before removing the air and storing for next summer.
