Save it for later!

Raclette and fondue seem to be the remedies for all winter ailments and the best ways to give us back a dazzling smile (while filling our bellies like never before). As soon as the temperatures drop, we know that this is the best excuse to rush out and buy everything you need to prepare your delicious meals (even if you don’t need an excuse to treat yourself). After this good meal, how to maintain the fondue pot and the raclette grill without scratching? This is what we will explain to you here.

1) Eat as much fondue as possible so as not to spoil anything and because the less there is, the less difficult it will be to clean up.

2) Fill it with very cold water. Leave to soak overnight. (Optional: add a spoonful of salt.)

3) The next day, change the water and this time add two tablespoons of baking soda.

4) Leave it on for 20 minutes and wash it normally. No need to scratch with this procedure!

Good to know: If the cheese has become too hard to remove, you can put the whole thing in the oven for 5 minutes to soften it again.

1) Take advantage of it being hot after the meal to scrape off the residue.

2) Prepare a paste with two parts baking soda to one part water.

3) Rub the grill with this preparation and leave for an hour.

4) Wipe with a cloth.

Bonus : dampen a cloth and pour three tablespoons of white vinegar on it. Swirl in the air to remove lingering cheese smells. Plus, it’s quite fun to do!

3) And what do we do for the raclette shovels and fondue picks?

For the former, remember to use the non-abrasive side of the sponge and wooden utensils (avoid metal which could scratch them). In both cases, we recommend a one-hour bath in cold water with baking soda to loosen everything.
