The liquids that are poured into an electronic cigarette are appreciated for the variety of flavors available for the greatest pleasure of vapers, but they must still be handled with care to preserve the quality of the product and prevent them from falling in the wrong hands or misused. And above all, spilling product inadvertently can result in some stains on clothing or surrounding fabrics. How best to treat these stains? We reveal all our secrets to you here!
1) Simple preventive actions
If you are clumsy, stay away from e-liquids that are too rich in colorings. Some resins could leave difficult stains… especially if you wear white when filling your electronic cigarette so choose dark clothing! Also avoid handling anything over your carpet or your magnificent Persian rug, as clumsiness can quickly happen!
2) Act quickly
The stains are not greasy contrary to popular belief. Bases are often water-soluble and so are flavorings, although there are exceptions. So, after absorbing most of the moisture with a paper towel, it is entirely possible to treat the stain while it is still fresh with water and a brush or a damp washcloth. Use a little elbow grease to scrub without damaging the fabric and let it dry.
3) With dishwashing detergent
For more difficult marks due to nicotine, propylene glycol or the coloring of the e-liquid, you can also add a drop of dishwashing liquid or detergent to help you scrub. The dishwashing liquid will help dissolve the greasy appearance of the stain and it should quickly be forgotten!
4) Using Vinegar and Baking Soda
If you have unfortunately dropped some liquid on your carpet, you can always rely on vinegar and baking soda and the resulting chemical reaction to mechanically remove the stain! You must start by soaking the area with white vinegar to treat a large part of the mark then sprinkle baking soda on it to obtain the effervescent reaction. Then let it dry and vacuum up the dried bicarbonate residue.
5) A good anti-stain mixture
If nothing helps, it’s time to use the hard way with the best mixture against the stains that we have spoken to you about on several occasions (to recover a collar that has yellowed or to remove traces of pee on a mattress for example). example) ! Mix two parts degreasing dishwashing liquid with one part hydrogen peroxide and one part sodium bicarbonate. Make sure everything is well incorporated and rub the area to be treated with a brush soaked in this product.
6) In general, one machine wash is enough!
Even though the stains may seem a little impressive, they generally do not survive a simple wash, especially for liquids that are not colored. You should therefore have no problem if you rely on a classic washing program. But at least you are prepared for all eventualities thanks to all our suggestions. Happy vaping!
