How to make a 100% natural cleaner for impeccable toilets?

Save it for later!

Often rhyming with dirt and bad odors, the toilet is THE least pleasant room in the house to frequent, the one where no one lingers and above all, the one we least enjoy cleaning. However, we go to the toilet some 2,500 times a year and spend nearly 120 days of our lives doing our business, which still represents a lot of time. So, how to combine WC and well-being? Here’s how to make a 100% homemade grandmother’s cleaner that will breathe new life into your toilets for their regular maintenance. No need for toxic, novice bleach to scrub away dirt, disinfect all surfaces and make your toilet shine again!

And to find a very effective air freshener, you can do it here!

The ingredients of natural toilet cleaner:

160 g baking soda

60 ml lemon juice

1/2 tablespoon of white vinegar

1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide (or 3% hydrogen peroxide, from a pharmacy)

15 to 20 drops of lavender, citrus or eucalyptus essential oil (essential oils are optional, as it makes your household cleaning product less eco-friendly)

The steps:

Stages 1 :

Pour the baking soda into a bowl and add the lemon juice.

Stages 2 :

Mix the hydrogen peroxide and vinegar in another container. Little by little, pour this mixture into your bowl with the baking soda. Optional: Finally add the desired amount of fragrance oil.

Stages 3 :

Using a very small spoon, form domes and place them on baking paper to dry. You can also make a mixture of water and white vinegar (half and half) to pour on the internal walls of the toilet to hold the little domes in place.

Stages 4:

Dry your capsules for at least 4 hours, or even overnight. Store them in a glass jar near your toilet when they are completely dry.

Stages 5 :

Throw a capsule inside your toilet as soon as it is a little less fresh. Then let it work. Breathe freshness thanks to the combination of all these natural biodegradable products.

Although the preparation is quite long, this tip is much more ecological than the chemical products that we can find in supermarkets. In addition, many of the cleaning products used for its production are as ecological as they are multi-purpose. Baking soda will scrub the entire bathroom. Very descaling and softening, white vinegar will replace chemical anti-limescale for the sink. And if that’s not enough to descale everything, take it to the next level with cleaning products such as citric acid, sodium percarbonate or soda crystals.
