To date, we have offered you a good number of recipes for creating lye on your own (like in this article on ash lye). This is something we encourage you to do because of the toxic products contained in store-bought laundry detergent. It’s also a good plan, often very economical, and a real boost for those who have sensitive skin and therefore, unfortunately, recurrent allergies or itching due to detergents bought in supermarkets. This recipe in particular may please you because it contains lavender which has a pleasant smell. Overall, this recipe is good for the skin and simple to make like all homemade detergents.
What you need:
- 1 liter of water
- 45 g of organic soap flakes
- 6 drops of lavender essential oil
- 3 tablespoons of baking soda
- Bucket for mixing + Empty drum or container
The steps:
1) Put the soap flakes in a clean bucket and pour a quart of boiling water into the bucket.
2) Mix until the glitter is completely dissolved.
3) Add the bicarbonate and then let cool.
4) Finish with the drops of essential oil, mix and let sit for a full day.
The detergent is ready to be poured into the container! Mix it before using it.
