Whether it is to disinfect door handles, the work surface, the toilets, the light switches, the trash can, the refrigerator and all the surfaces in the house that require it, having a very effective disinfectant is a necessity. It can also be used to maintain a healthy environment when a family member is ill. To do this, we often automatically think of bleach. However, it presents many dangers and is particularly bad for health and the environment. To disinfect the house of germs without using harmful household products, this recipe for a natural herbal disinfectant is perfect! This cleaning product will quickly find a place in your daily life.
The ingredients:
-Aromatic herbs and disinfectant plants (pine buds, lavender, mint, rosemary, sage, savory and/or thyme)
-White vinegar
-Water
-A spray bottle
When it comes to choosing plants, you can opt for just one of these plants or combine them. They do not in fact all have the same properties. Thyme and savory are two plants with antibacterial properties while lavender, sage and rosemary have antiseptic properties. For a mixture with complete effectiveness, do not hesitate to multiply the herbs.
The recipe for natural herbal disinfectant
1) If using fresh plants, fill a pot completely. For dry herbs, however, prefer to fill it a quarter full.
2) Then cover with water and put everything to boil.
3) Once boiling, let your herbal water infuse for a good quarter of an hour before filtering carefully.
4) For the last step, fill your spray bottle halfway with your herbal infusion. You can then complete with white vinegar.
Mix and your herbal disinfectant is ready!
The good news is that This recipe keeps very well. Therefore, you can prepare a large quantity in a container and transfer it to your sprayer as soon as it is empty, always keeping the same dilution: half herbal infusion and half vinegar. This easy, quick and effective recipe will quickly make you forget about household products made with harmful ingredients. And in terms of use, it couldn’t be simpler. Simply spray it on the surfaces to be treated and leave on for 30 seconds before rubbing with a clean cloth.
Alternatively, you can also decide to opt for tea tree essential oil, again to disinfect the house naturally.
